Ministries at Fellowship Presbyterian Church
Worship: We strive to worship in a way that is reverent, energetic and God-centered, with a strong emphasis given to the preaching of the God's Word. The Scripture also shows us how to worship in the way that God desires. While we emphasize the whole congregation being involved in the act of worship, there are also opportunities for individuals to use their gifts in the ministry of the choir.
Growth in Grace: We believe that God uses His Word, the sacraments (baptism and the Lord's Supper) and prayer to grow us in the faith and make us like Christ. We endeavor to teach and apply the Scripture; whether that be in Sunday school, Bible studies or through individual discipleship. Our goal is that every member would know how to study and apply God's Word personally and that we would each encourage one another in our walks with Christ.
Evangelism and Outreach: God is continually growing His kingdom and it is our privilege to be a part of that growth! Consequently, we stress the opportunities for outreach that already exist all around us, while seeking to cultivate in our body a global vision for and participation in missions. It is not enough for us to send our dollars toward missions; we are working to increasingly invest our energy, time and lives in the work of foreign and domestic evangelism.
Service and Ministry: We actively minister in love to physical needs both within and outside of the body, helping members to identify their gifts for service and use them joyfully. Some examples are helping with meals, household maintenance or childcare for those in need; but the opportunities for service and mercy are go well beyond just these.
Fellowship in the Body: We have a range of regular social opportunities with a goal of fostering relationships and integrating new members into the body, ultimately with a view toward more effectively ministering with and to one another. Some of these are aimed at specific "segments" of the body: men, women, youth, children, young couples, singles or those with some specific area of interest; but many are also cross-generational and involve the participation of the whole body.
Family and Youth: We have a number of classes and activities for our youth; but we also stress the importance of the parent-child relationship the spiritual nurture that must take place in the home. Our goal is to see our children "grow up" to maturity in Christ and themselves become active members of His body. We currently have classes and activities for all ages on Sunday morning and Wednesday night, monthly youth "gettogethers" and multiple retreats/camps each year. Our nursery has recently been renovated, is well-staffed and available for all of our services. This entire area of Family and Youth ministry will also grow as the Lord brings growth to the church.
Women in the Church: We have two ladies' studies that meet throughout the year. One meets on a weekday morning at the church with childcare being provided. The other meets one evening during the week in the home of a church member. These are opportunities for women to be encouraged from the Scriptures and to sharpen one another. Women in the Church work alongside and in coordination with the Deacons of the church in the provision of mercy and physical needs, particularly in situations for which women are more able to effectively minister (e.g. the physical needs of other women). Our women also take a primary role in the coordination of our nursery ministry and the fellowship opportunities within the body.
